I am attending a formal dance in mid-January and was looking for suggestions on what to wear. I am not sure if I should wear a ball gown or more of a cocktail dress. Also not sure if I should go with classic black or look for a splash of color. Are there any accessories that are really hot right now? What about shoes? I do not want to wear open toes because it is cold. Do I need to wear hose and what color would you recommend? Where would you recommend that I go shopping.

Ideally I am hoping to stand out but not look slutty. I appreciate your advice?

There is this girl that I like, and recently we went out and ended up making out, she says she really likes me, but her boyfriend is too nice of a guy and doesn't want to hurt him by breaking it off and going out with me. I'm 20 years old, college student. It bothers me how with long basketball shorts, the fabric flops around everywhere when running. Is it okay to wear these short nike runner's shorts to tennis class next semester and/or to the campus gym/weightroom? Do guys wear shorts like these?
