Here's the thing, if you consider that 3500 calories roughly equals one pound in either direction (example, if you need 14,000 calories a week, and you eat 17,500, there will be a typical increase of one pound, and eating 11,500 will be a decrease of one pound), actually losing 25 pounds of fat weight would be virtually impossible.
Further, weight actually is of little to no importance when making considerations to your body. If your weight number is more important than inch number, there's probably a psychological reasoning behind it.
Something to consider is that muscle weighs much, much more than fat, so a healthy diet and exercise regiment can often cause you to lose much less weight than you'd imagine, simply because of muscle gains. Measuring inches will get you where you want to be.
Now how to lose the weight? That depends on your current weight. If you are in excess of 200 lbs, it's much easier than if you weigh 130.
Your best bet is to simply eat a high fiber diet with complex carbohydrates. Get a healthy amount of protein, and intake very few calores. Something like a serving of romain lettuce, lean chicken or turkey, tomatoes, carrot slices, and even a serving of cheese in a salad will be very filling and contain only 100 or so calories.
The trick is to keep your body from going into "starvation" mode, but to eat much fewer calories. Just eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats, and cutting out any artificial sugar (candy, etc.) will almost certainly do the trick. Also, excercising (jogging, bike riding, or even walking) a lot, and making sure that you eat when you get hungry (keeping stable blood sugar) would get you close to your goal.

That's too much to lose safely in one month. The safest weight loss is 2 pounds a week. It is possible to lose up to 5 pounds in a week, but in doing so you could end up pretty weak and sick.
First thing would be to look at your diet and food portions. Check for any food sensitivities or allergies (the most common being wheat, dairy and nuts). Eating a food you're sensitive to can cause gut inflammation and fluid retention. Eliminating those foods can help a lot.
Make sure that you're eating a lot of fiber from fresh fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc. Fiber will make you feel more full so you'll eat less and will keep you regular.
Eliminate sugared soft drinks, lattes, fraps, etc. You wouldn't believe the calorie and fat content in some of those things. You could drop a whole size by ditching those things alone.
And last, walk, walk, walk. The action of walking tones the entire body, improves cardiovascular condition and whittles away the tummy.
And good luck!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

That's just about a pound a day- and that's really too fast to be healthy, unless you are morbidly obese.
Now, if you eat smaller portions of healthy food (food that is not overly processed or fried), keep fresh fruits for snacks, and drink a lot of water but not much soda, and exercise, the weight you need to lose should come off fairly quickly.
Good luck!

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle. Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Reading a book stuffed with useless words will take you hours but the information on a post, taking minutes to read, is not enough. The webpage below will take about 30 minutes to read which is just enough to know what you need to know.
Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter. Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Get latest info like American Heart Association does not want you to eat more than 6 ounces daily of meat, fish or poultry. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

There is no healthy way to do so. At most you should lose 2 pounds a week. However, the heavier you are, the faster you will lose weight...at first.

You should aim for 2 - 3 lb week, thats the healthy option. Diet and exercise is the only way to do it, dont be tempted by pills with big promises, they dont work for long..;
