Commentary: Town makes it illegal to fly a foreign flag

SAN DIEGO, California (CNN) -- This is where we've arrived in this country: You have the constitutional right to burn an American flag, but you can get into trouble for simply flying a foreign one.

At least you can in the 30,000-person town of Pahrump, Nevada, which is close to Las Vegas and even closer to stepping over the line with an idiotic, intolerant and insulting ban on foreign (read: Mexican) flags. The town council voted last week, 3-2, to approve an ordinance that makes it illegal to display a foreign flag -- unless an American flag is flown above it. Scofflaws face a $50 fine and 30 hours of community service.

Besides, the spectacle with the Mexican flags was no different than what happened a few weeks later when American Jews marched in Los Angeles and New York, waiving the Israeli flag to show support for Israel in its war against Hezbollah. About that, there were few complaints.

looking for scientists or scientific evidence that refute global warming?

do any of you guys know of any scientists or sites showing any evidence global warming is not caused by human activity. I am convinced it is, but I'm having difficulty with people citing "evidence" that it is completely natural or that somehow the earth will overcome this problem on its own. You can rant on either side of this if you want, but I am looking for real evidence.

is this true......?

if women eat three bean salads...they will become mor masculine and grow hair ansd suff????? i read about one case where this women started to grow a wee wee kinda in between her groin and her hip...but it never completed its development and she had to have it operated on...an now there is just like a huge bump there....

Automobiles designed to fail?

One thing I have heard mentioned in the past by mechanics that car's, notably cars that were made in the eighties by american auto makers were engineered....to break down after a certain milelage...usually around 100K miles. Can anyone verfiy this or is this rumor just a product of the piss-poor automobiles produced in that era?

Could I be pregnant?

Trying to conceive, ovulated on 13th Oct. Should have started today. Past two days and today have had brownish/pinkish light spotting. Test was neg this morning. No feelings of period cramping, but breasts very tender, very tired. I just dont know what to think.
