The king of an ancient European kingdom, confirmed by the Pope, was besiged in his castle by a foriegn king's forces. After many years, he surrendered in exchange for the lives of his subjects and soldiers. He and his family were exiled, he being banished to a monastery in another country where he lived out his days. His family thrived in the new country and a long line of descendents still exist today. As this was prior to the ideaology of primogenture being widely accepted, and as historical examples show, it was common in this former kingdom for the royal blood line to be extended through male and female descendants, what would be the correct form of address for a male, or female, of direct descent?

I can't find the question now but a little while back someone asked about the evolution of viruses that we see and didn't that support evolution.

Some replied that this was mutation not evolution. Now there is no qualitative difference (both just involve rearranging the base pairs of RNA) so any posited difference must be quantitative. Where is the boundary between mutation (possible) and evolution (impossible)? What is the mechanism that kicks in to stop mutation going betomd a certain point? And how do we know that that mechanism limits mutation to such an extent that it stops evolution?

I have read the theory that mutation stops at the boundaries of the species but haven't read of any mechanism that would ensure that.

OK. difficult violent child in my class aged 10. (Has a history of fighting, upseting others, storming out of class, swearing in a variety of languages shouting at, being disrespectful to and even once injuring teachers). Possible reasons are that he is a refugee from Somalia and later had a short stay in the middle east, plus he was badly bullied when he first arrived in the UK. (the refugee EAL thing is very common in our school). So, the strategies I have put inplace for him are this; he sees a councillor once a week, I have a home school book for him - where I write down what he has done that day and put a smiley/frowny face so his mum, who doesn't speak English, can see how he's been. She has to sign this to show whe's seen it and her elder children can translate what it says. I also go down the road of praising, a lot confidence building etc...the home school book has worked really well until recently. but he's been awful the past week - any ideas?

This question is primarily for the "Separation of Church and State" crowd. As these are religious in origin and nature and as most city/state/federal governments ban religious displays, TO BE CONSISTENT, shouldn't these 2 days no longer be recognized by the government as holidays?

Or would you rather give him some signals, (smile, eye contact) for him to come over and talk to you? Basically, if you don't even look at a guy, does that mean, don't bother coming over to talk?

I am 25, 5'5", and 155 lbs. I want to lose 35 lbs, eventually, and get to 120. I work 60+ hrs a week, most of them in a sedentary job, so I need a guide that can help me reduce calories. I feel my biggest problem is I eat too much. Once I start eating, I won't stop until I get full or run out of food. (Usually the latter.) I need something quick to fit my 10+ hours of work a day. I know it has to be a lifestyle change, and I was doing good for a while, until I got tired of being hungry all the time. I try to eat breakfast, but if its not something like sausage, but 10 am, I'm ready to faint. I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place, or a fat and a lard place. I'm not looking for an easy answer, just something I can do. Please help.
