"Never trust a purrty gal or a lonely midget." This movie had me in tears from beginning to end. John Astin as Evil Roy & Dick Shawn as Bing Bell (somebody at the door.) I haven't seen it in years & wish I could see it again. Maybe there's a DVD out. Billy Barty as "the lonely midget". I'm laughing now just thinking about it. Where can I get it?

In my last question it wasnt enough info so here I go again. My brother was adopted by my dad who abused him off and on for fifteen years. By the time he was 16, my dad had attacked him several times in front of the rest of us.

My grandmother moved to SC and took him with her, but my dad broke out of prison and with a partner, kidnapped him. He was abused, and, you know, over a five-day period before found by police.

My dad's in prison with a life sentance.

My mom and I moved to SC shortly after that to be with my grandma. My mom hates my brother though, they're always getting into fights.

Because of my brother, I have lost both my mother and my father. I know it is not his fault, but why do I feel so angry twoards him, and yet so loving twoards my parents?

(he is 17 now)

I'm looking for a book or resources for 12yr old girl who lives in a heart breaking situation. She is becoming discouraged after living with her father who got custody of her a couple of years ago. He is not emotionally supportive of her, he is over controlling to the point of being a jerk. He is an angry man and takes it all out on her and anyone else in the family who crosses his path. Social services was called on him this week because he wouldn't take her to the dr after being sick for a week. So far social services hasn't done their part in what's best for her. A stupid judge gave him custody a couple of years ago because she was living with maternal grandma who took great care of her (mom runs around).
I'm looking for something to give her that will encourage her spirit so that she won't become defeated inside, preferably Christian based but will consider other resources.
Those of us who love her feel like our hands our tied. If we speak up we don't get to see her.

We have large evergreens in our front yard. They are as tall as our 1.5 story house. I'd like to put Christmas lights on them but don't know the best way of doing that. A ladder seems out of the question because I couldn't lean it on anything. Maybe a long pole with a hook? If so, do they sell such a thing? If I made one what should I make it out of? We have managed to keep our friendship strong even though I moved thousands of miles several years ago. Recently my best friend confessed that deep depression was causing a lack of communication- via email or phone but that I would be contacted when the depression passed or at least lessened. Months have passed and I heard nothing but I respected my friend's request for "space". Recently I sent a modest but thoughtful (I thought) gift for my friend's birthday, but I confess a small part of me hoped it would elicit some communication after all of this time. Both my gift and my voice mail of birthday wishes went unacknowledged. Have I made it worse with my gift? I don't understand depression! Does it make people want to lose valuable friendships? So far I am just super concerned. Has depression crossed over to just plain rude? Should I be mad? I don't want to be. I just want my friend back!
