the eating disorder that she most likely has is bulimia nervosa, which is a mixture of bulimia and anorexia. this means that they dont normally eat, but then when they do eat something (say she eats something while on camera to try to prove that she doesnt have an eating disorder) she would then purger her body of the food by any means possible, either by throwing up or by laxatives.

i dont suggest you read the book.i have not read it, but my roommate did and she regrets it. it is highly overrated and everyone knows that she most likely didnt even write it. shes rich enough to have someone else write it.

Since the question has been answered already, I'll just add a detail. Her mother (who she does talk to) lives in the Dominican Republic now. Her biological parents met while both working for Lionel Ritchie in the early 80s.
