They are celebrities, but they're also people. No, I don't think that they ALL get married to stay married forever, but alot of them are so hungy to have a normal feeling family life that they rush to the altar. Immagine in your life if you married a guy/girl who is out of the country shooting love scenes while you're back home shooting your own love scene? It's gotta be tough... And then, look at Britney, I believe she wanted her most recent marriage to last, but she shoulda never rushed down that altar.. especially to him... okay, my point is that it's alot harder to have a family and a loving relationship when people are sniffin' up their asses every time they walk down the street (I know, I know.. they sign up for it when they decide to be famous... but c'mon now) Instead of wanting celebs to be role models for our kids, I think parents need to start taking responsibility and TEACHING through words and actions the meaning of marriage, love, etc......

How is this much different than if they were able to see how many parents of the kids they go to school with get a Divorce in one school year?
Celebrities are just human.......they are placed upon pedestals by the public, but they make wrong choices; or rather bad choices in marriage partners and they get divorced. It is better than having them stay together and reading about one person winding up in the hospital with massive cuts and bruises due to a beating by the other spouse, or perhaps even a death.
Life is too short to stay in a marriage that is definitely past the point of 'bad times'. I know marriage vows are intended to last forever, but times are different now, what with all the killings by kids of other kids,of their parents and marriage partners killing each other after their marriages have ended or even during them when the going gets tough. All you can do is talk to your children and let them know that your marriage is happy and that alot of marriages are happy, but there are some that are not and they must grow up and do what is right for them. I do strongly believe also in trying to work through the bad times, but sometimes that is just not possible forever. Sometimes things go past the line of no return and then what is there besides a very unhappy marriage and scenes that no child should ever have to witness.

Not only does it set a bad example, what about the poor children of these celebs, Besides having unconventional parents they get called absolutly ridiclus names. I think there should be a law that NO celebrity especially if there are children involved should have to be togther for a minimum of 3 years before they are allowed to marry, Maybe one out of 100 may last past that point. And no divorces unless they have been through all necessary counseling and all have to have a Pre nup no matter how much they say they will be togther or how in love they are. They courts should be freed up for more important issues.

Yes. Most of the big stars are so selfish and into themselves that they don't really care about other people, so they cheat on their spouses, adopt kids they only want in order to make themselves look good (and then leave them with nannies), and get themselves on the covers of magazines before the big divorce comes. Example: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Not even married and they have a child. Once married, how long do you think this relationship will last? 10 years like it did with Nicole Kidman? I wish people wouldn't buy the magazines with the big stories about these stars. Then, the mags would go out of business or switch their focus to something more interesting. But, as long as there are "fans" of these stars, nothing will ever change.

Yes, it amazes me how much young people hang on everything celebrities do, say wear, etc. They get married and divorced out there like it's a game. I think it's a sad statement on our world today. It seems our kids are growing up believing that if it doesn't work you just get divorced and find someone new...no big deal. Marriage is a commitment to live your life as partners and work through the good and bad times together. To me, that should never go out of style.

Why should one let it make one angry? Fifty percent of all marriages end in divorce in the United States. They don't happen in a vacuum; they happen amongst your neighbors and your family. Therefore it makes no sense to presume that celebrities have any more influence upon your children's attitudes than their neighbors or family members do. It is up to YOU to impart your beliefs regarding adult relationships, and if you do not do so, you have nobody else to blame.

These celebrities live in a fantasy world. Parents need to set good role models for their children and teach them early what real heroes are. And they are NOT in the celebrity realm. Find people in your family, in your church, in your community who have done extraordinarily great things. Talk to your children about these heroes. And don't overlook the brave men and women in the military!

celebrities should not be setting any kind of examples for kids.If your worried that your kids are looking to these celebrities for guidance then maybe you should talk to your kids more. You as the parent should be teaching your children about how to maintain a healthy relationship. You as a parent as should explaining to your kids the differences about life.Your kids should know better than to look up to celebrities. No one cares what celebrities do and if they are being influenced by them, then something went wrong with your parenting skills.

As the years pass, our children seem to become numb to important things that should be taken seriously. Kind of sad actually. The "so what" society is all around us.
