I took a loan out of my 401(k) to pay for part of my down payment, and for renovations for a co-op I am purchasing. My thought was to repay the 401(k) with a home equity loan, the thought being that the interest on the HEL is deductible, versus no deductiblility for the 401(k). Are there any restrictions about what a HEL can be used for?

I was listening to a comedian talk about it and it got me thinking. People (mainly Christians and Republicans) say they want to "PROTECT" marriage.... from what? PLEASE dont tell me what it says in the Bible, as there are many Americans (incl. most gays) who don't believe in the Bible. So how does a gay or lesbian couple getting married hurt straight couples or families? Straight people do a good enough job making marriage less "sacred"... just look at the divorce rate. How are gay people going to make that worse?

We dont need to increase the population, plus straight ppl make love for fun not just kids.

Please don't waste time saying stuff like "if men can marry other men, animals (or children) might be next". Get real; gay people are the same species, they're all human, consenting adults.

SO with all that in mind PLEASE tell me what the actual problem is!

Please explain. My friend makes about $34,000 annually and gets $400 a month in child support for 2 illegitimate children. She claims 11 credits on her W2 throughout the year to maximize her paycheck (which is legal) and she still gets like 4k back on her taxes. They are done legally. So it sounds like to me the EIC actually gives you money to work. She ends up with more back than she pays in. Why is that fair? It is not like she is at poverty level. Am I misunderstanding the EIC?

When I go to www.wellsfargo.com it searchs for www.wellsfargo.com like it doesn't exist. Also happens when go to any user name password sites. Can't find www.americanexpress.com, can't find yahoo email login page, can't find login for my electric company, etc. Any thoughts??

We've known each other for about a year, and both of us were in a relationship when we met. My relationship ended on it's own then, his relationship ended on it's own, but we were always friends. i met this girl online tonight (dont judge me lol), and we talkedfor a few hours on messenger. she then said shes about to go to her room and she said i could call her if i wanted. i ask for her number and she gives it to me.

so i just called her. she is really nice...sexy voice. we talked about sports, work, school, our family life, san fran, clubs and drinkin, she told me how she used to get drunk all the time and she hasnt drank though in a year. talked about halloween...what we're doing... etc etc. then she asks if i can call her tomorrow, i say yes, then we both say goodnight.
