I ask because I'm quite in the mood for eating the sweets myself, and giving tricks to any kids stupid enough to bug me this evening.

Is it okay to mug them for the sweets they have already been given, or is there some other tradition to cover this?

Actually, the trick part comes from Celtic lore where you never knew what you were getting, so just don't go into wearing a trench-coat purchasing a bag of apples and razor blades.

Dragon thinks you should give the kids the empty wrappers. That would be a good trick!

Or you could make em sing a song to get their treat.

Nope you can scare the hell out of them and see if they drop their bags, then you get their candy. I don't blame you, I would rather have the candy too.
