I have had blood tests done because of hypertension to test for liver function. The Full blood, glucose and cholesterol tests were ok but I have been asked to retest again (in 7 days) as the Doctor wanted to check kidney and liver function. This is all the info I can get from the receptionist, any idea what this could be about, is it something I should worry about ?

We accept that there are billions of stars, because someone else tells us

We accept that there are billions of bacteria floating around inside our mouths because someone has told us....

We accept the religious acts of others, thousands of years ago because someone tells us

Yet, some one tells us "watch out for the wet paint" or leaves a sign on it, do you always run your finger on it to see whether it is still wet?

Do you do this?
Why do I do this?

It started the ultimate fashion accessory was to carry around a little dog wherever you went... now it seems an african child is the new "in" thing to have... My vote has got to be Paris Hilton or Brittney Spears

Over the years the NME and (the now defunct) Melody Maker championed many bands who then promptly disappeared off the face of the earth! Does anyone know what happened to any of the following: Chicks (female Irish teenage punk trio), New Electrics (indie band, had a couple of singles, Beautiful Mind and Get It Together) and Pop Tarts (late 80's)?

Who here was spanked as a child...?
I mean swatted as a consequnce, not savagely or needlessly beaten. For those of you who were spanked as a child, do you think it had any negative effects on you? I was spanked when I was young, always with an explanation of what I did wrong, and why it was wrong. I'm now a loving mother, and I look back and see that spanking didnt hurt me in any way. I grew up in a loving home, and usually just a warning did the trick for me, but sometimes I just needed a swat, and I even KNEW i did. Does anyone out there think that spanking had a negative effect on them? What were your experiences?

-Experiences with YOUR children dont count, unless they are grown. Otherwise, you dont really know HOW they turned out, do you? I am asking for YOUR experience. Thanks! Just trying to get some insight.

I live in a western society and I believe if I was to visit a muslim state I would respect their culture and heritage and cover myself appropriately to intergrate within the host state. I dont believe Britain is asking to much of its guests or residents to abide by the principles of our western culture as this would create intergration. What do you think?

I know that it costs about 100$. But is that all I have to spend to receive the Microsoft security updates? My technician says that in addition to this about 200-300$ more has to be spent to completely 'tune up' the computer and also says that I will get nothing if I just get the genuine XP Home. Is it really true? I just want to receive Microsoft's security updates and don't require any other 'tune up's. Please help with a detailed and enormous answer! I am losing my patience!
