It doesn't matter at this stage because as soon as you see your baby...You'll know the name.
My partner and I argued over names all the time. I was so sure I was having a boy and I thought his boy's names were dodgy, I did a deal with him.
I'd pick the boy's name and he could pick the girls's name.
As soon as my DAUGHTER was born, I knew what her name would be..The name her father picked was so approrpiate so I suggested that.
He was so dumbfounded...he just said.."Oh you can pick.... really!"
It will all work out in the end...wait and see and good luck with your pregnancy.

I was like that, couldn't stop being daft and making a joke out of it all.
At about 16 weeks I started to take it a little more seriously, I think it started to sink in I was going to be a father.
Give him time, if he really does care he will show it eventually.

We had exactly the same problem. Our solution was to go through the baby name book, each pick out what names we liked. Then we went through the names and any names that we had both picked out we put into a hat. Our son then picked out a name and we made each other promise that whatever name came out would be the final name.
It worked!!!! We named our little boy Taylor

I love choosing babies names as I like to have a name thats a little different but not too wacky. However my kids names are now quite well known Wesley, Nathan, Chloe and Alfie but considering they are 26yrs to 11yrs the names weren't as popular then!
I did have disagreements over Chloe, but just wait once he has seen you go through the birth he'll gladly give in to anything you want! just pick the right time to bring it up !!
Good luck

Ok, relax, you have plenty of time to convert him to liking your name ideas. :-) The key is to find ones he's not completely against, just sorta against, then keep suggesting them perhaps with different combinations of first and middle names until he accepts them. Most couples take mths and mths of discussing to agree on something. For my partner and I, it was more of an agreement where I would pick the first name and he could pick the middle name. You could try that. We also chose to hyphenate her last name, as we arent married and there was no way either of us were giving up on her having our last name. It's nice this way, you can really tell she is a part of each of us and not just her Daddy because some silly rule says you should take on his last name.

Get yourself a baby name book, or write down names that mean something to you both like family names.
For my third child which we knew was a boy we couldn't decide between Lucas and Lewis and so we wrote them on a piece of paper screwed them up, threw them on the floor and I chose one. Luckily it was Lewis which was the name I liked all along.
If you are finding our the sex of your baby I'd wait until then to start choosing names x
Congratulations and good luck x

Its so hard to agree sometimes. Dont worry, you will more than likely get your way! LOL as soon as he sees what work you have done to get that baby outta there he will give in to you! Maybe you should post the names he likes and the names that you like a see what everyone on here reckons... just for curiosity sake! Ill give u my opinion anyway. goodluck with it all!

If you both disagree, compromise.one of you choose the fisrt name, and either partner choose the middle.come up with some really outragious names yourself, the dafter the better,he'll soon get fed up with the sarcasm.
