This computer can't connect to the ISP. (Windows XP, Rogers cable Internet) but other computers can.
The network card works. If I assign it's IP manually, it can exist perfectly on a LAN. Pings and file transfers work fine.
But if I have it obtain its IP and DNS info automatically and try to connect, it gets that default IP 169.etc.etc. (can't remember exactly, but you know what I mean) and it reports "Limited or no connectivity".
I even added a NEW network card and got the exact same results.
I have removed/disabled ALL firewalls, Norton is gone.
The Internet did work fine up until one day it would no longer connect to the Internet. No software/hardware changes or moves took place.
If I try to boot into "safe mode with networking", it halts on the line that says C:\{Some path I can't remember}\mup and waits about a minute until it reboots itself. Not sure if this part is helpful.
This is a very difficult problem to Google so any help or ideas is appreciated
