Apparently they were issued to families by the British government so that poor folk could cook food, so there must be loads knocking about somewhere. Some people use them as old flower pots in the garden or just leave them to rot somewhere. I want top put one to good use and would love to get hold of one. Any info would be appreciated. Could collect in the UK.

The are the best for cooking and can still be bought (very expensive) but they aren't as good as the old makes.
Heat salt in it to seal it before cooking in it.

What do you want to use it for? i have one if you are talking about those cast-iron pots, very heavy. Does not have three legs just a large round flattish pot.

You could try antique shops and fairs to see if you can get your hands on one there.
