According to JK Rowling's website, she's still writing the book. Her Publisher is anticipating that the book will come out next year. One person here has posted 7-7-07 as a likely date; but that probably won't happen for two reasons: That is the two year anniversary of the London Subway bombing, and the next Harry Potter movie comes out the next week, and the producers won't want to share the spotlight.
A far likelier date would be next July 31st, as that is Harry Potter's Birthday (and JK Rowling's as well).

she hasn't said but im guessing christmas next year she was taking a break wasnt she and the next film is supposed to be ready for release in may 2007.
