Why don't you take Jesus literally when he so clear?
Jn. 6:27 "Do not work for the food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you."
Jn. 6:51 "I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world."
Also, many of His disciples left Him when He told them that they must eat His flesh and drink His blood. They obviously understood Him literally. Why didn't he say, "Wait! I only meant that symbolicallly! I didn't mean that you REALLY have to eat my flesh and drink my blood!"
And don't say "It is the spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail." Nowhere in the Bible is "spirit" used to mean symbolic. You can't say that was when he was clearing it all up. His disciples left AFTER He "supposedly" cleared it all up.
Jn. 6:55 "For my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink."
So, what do you believe?
