Strawberry festival. No, that's in May darn it! The Ventura County Fair was in August. Hmm. We have a Seaside Reggae Festival in September, but the Strawberry Festival is the only fruit related festival I can think of.
Let's not give up. Brentwood, California has a corn festival, but I don't know the month. Ah Lemon Festival in Ventura County in September! And it's yellow by gum:
