I have saved a .dvr file from a security monitoring system to a disk but can not find anything that will open it. It is just a .dvr file. I have found absolutely nothing through searches except for dvr-ms files but apperently these are two completely different types of files. Anyone have any helpful info so I can play this file?

Thanks but I just tried that and windows media player still wouldnt open the file. This is nerve racking. I guess I may just be sh it out of luck. Anything else you can think of?

Download codec 42... First you must download the file dvr3850.rar. After extract the files and open the “Pack” folder (the other files are only for the usb driver, dont need to use for Win XP).
There are two files named “vivog723”. Right click on vivog723.inf and select install. Just that!!
After that, try to open the file with windows media player.
