YIKES!!! It sucks but if your mom is human she should realize that it's normal! your reaction depends on how old you are. If you've already had "the talk" with your mom then don't worry about it...talking about it will only embarrass you more unless you have a very open relationship with her. At the very least all she'll say is (hopefully) that it's normal and healthy and blah blah, you know the drill. If you haven't had "the talk" then I'd let her approach you when she's ready, since she'll probably be the one to bring it up. Whatever you do don't let her make you think you were doing something wrong!

First, I just want to say that that sucks.

Don't worry about talking to her, she understands. If she feels the need to say something about it, I guess just sort of follow her lead.

I never had that problem, because my mom is deaf and popped into my room without knocking on a regular basis and caught me masturbating all the time - she teased me about it mercilessly, too. At least yours doesn't do that.

It'll be okay. It's really, really embarassing, but it must be some sort of rite of passage for teens or something.

Well that all depends? Did she caught you in the shower? Then, you have nothing to say. That's is private time.
Did she enter your romm unannounced? there too, its her fault.
Were you in a public area? Family room, corridor, stairwell, etc
You do have a problem. In any event it all depend on the "openness" that exist about sex and sexuality in your home.
Some moms, having been a teenager themself will think nothing of it and so there is nothing to say. Other homes, maybe object from a bibilical point of view. This you ought to have known and therefore abstain from this practice in public areas.

In truely depends on the openness that exit in your home.

Don't say anything. It's nothing to worry about. That is a normal action and she should have knocked on the door before coming in anyway. It's her fault and you should not be ashamed at all.

Well if you're old enough to masturbate, you should be old enough to put your own damn clothes away! Take some responsibility and things like that wouldn't happen!

here are steps to prevent this from happening again.

1. ask your mom to knock.
2.get a lock for your door.

Just avoid the subject. It's natural for everyone to do that so it's really not a huge deal, just embarrassing.

Either you go and have a talk with her. Or ignore it. I am sure it made her just as uncomfortable. maybe she will come to you if she thinks it needs discussion.
