This is not my invention, it's seriously considered by some politicians. The advantages are:
-There would be no catfight between the nations because Latin is nobody's national language (except for the Vatican).
-It belongs to our cultural heritage, and many our words come from Latin.
-The Vatican would be pleased, and t would also reflect that the vast majority of people here are Christian.
-It would make communication easier if everyone spoke the same second language in Europe. (Although English can already be considered as such, I guess.)
NOTE: Latin is not a dead language. In the Vatican it is the official language, and new words are added regularly, such as washing machine (fullonica electrica).
