My uncle had this strange condition where the one side of his face drooped and when he laughed the other side was exaggeratedly higher. His tongue was a dark red/purplish colour. He had two transischemic attacks 2 or 3 years ago and also 8 years ago. He twitches. Could anyone tell me what this might be?

I just got to work right now at 8am. I'm in Orange County, CA, and I work at a family law firm. I only slept for 4.5 hours last night, and I'm about to fall asleep at my desk. I'm soooooo sleepy! I don't really wanna drink any coffee, cause I usually don't enjoy the one at work. What do you recommend I do, to stay awake??? How can you keep me from taking a nap??? I am boarding a gelding , it was a stallion. What exactly is done to the horse to change it to a geldling? Also, how do I catch or call a horse to come in for the night, so I can put it in its stall? I have three price indices (the first starting in 1987, the second in 1991 and the third in 2000). I am trying to construct an aggregate index for all three. I am having trouble because of the different starting date for each index. The problem is that when the second series comes in then the index falls or rises sharply, and the same happens when the third series comes in as well.Could someone please help me out? Thanks

Brown looks favourite to become the next Labour leader, but unless I am misunderstanding something here (and please correct me if I am), how can he just be put in charge, surely there must be some sort of vote for him whether it be through a general or party election?

Personally I would like to see a general election since a party is influenced by its leader and surely therefore the leader of our country should be someone elected by the people which is the whole point of a democracy.

What do you think?

The United States House voted last week to require Americans to show proof of citizenship in order to vote.

Democrats state the legislation would disenfranchise minorities, the poor and the elderly – who might have difficulty producing identification.

My own common sense question is "How do people without ID cash a check or show they are old enough to buy cigarettes or a lottery ticket(both require you be over 18) ?"

They can't live in a vacuum or they won't want to vote.

I can't even write a check at the store without showing proof of who I am . I can't walk into a branch office of my own bank to cash a check without showing ID. You go into a Rentway or Circuit City to finance anything they want ID.

I'm not wealthy so I can sympathize but asking for ID seems a small price to pay for the right to vote.
