chihuahuas, yorkies, poodles. I've had two toy poodles and they are super smart and well behaved. I know they have a bad rep for barking, but I haven't had a problem with either. They train fast and the toy poodles have less problems than the tea cup breed (joints as they get older are sometimes a problem for small poodles and yorkies)

*******THIS MESSAGE WAS TAKEN FROM THE YORKSHIRE TERRIER CLUB OF AMERICA*********

An Important Message About “Teacup” Yorkies
If you are interested in purchasing a tiny Yorkie, sometimes called a Teacup, Micro Mini, Teenie, or any other name that means “extra small”, there are several things you should consider. The YTCA’s Code of Ethics precludes the
use of the words “teacup”, “tiny specialists”, doll faced, or similar terminology by its members, and for good reason.
All breeders may occasionally have an unusually small Yorkie (hopefully healthy), though no responsible breeder breeds for this trait. Many breeders prefer a general weight range of 4-7 four pounds believing that size retains desired Toy qualities while maintaining optimum health. The Yorkie Standard states weight
"must not exceed seven pounds" and as a prospective pet owner you should realize that even at 7 pounds, the Yorkie is still a small dog. (Females weighing less than 5 pounds are considered by most breeders to be unsuitable for breeding.)
Special circumstances often come with extra tiny dogs. They are extremely susceptible to both hereditary and non-hereditary health problems, including birth defects that may go undetected for a long time. Other common problems may include, but are not limited to, diarrhea, vomiting, along with extra and expensive tests prior to routine teeth cleanings and surgeries.
Small ones are more likely to have poor reactions to anesthesia and die from it. Tiny dogs are more easily injured by falls, being stepped on and being attacked by other dogs. These health problems nearly always result in large veterinary bills.
Please take this into consideration and make purchasing a healthy pet your top priority, not size. The “novelty” is certainly not worth the pain, heartbreak, or extra expense. Remember, all Yorkies are comparatively small. The most important thing is finding a healthy puppy that will grow into a healthy adult,
especially since you looking at an 11 to 15 year commitment with your Yorkie.

There is much information on our website. Please take the time to study it before buying a puppy. We wish you the best of luck.

Well, there is no such thing as a "teacup" anything..That's just irresponsible breeders breeding unhealthy, undersized dogs to each other and creating more of them, which isn't really fair to the dog..They end up with respiratory problems and heart issues..Chihuahuas, Yorkies, Maltese, Toy Poodles...these are just a few of the toy breeds that stay very small-always under twenty pounds..My little Yorkie weighed in at 5 Ibs and she was basically healthy and normal...Isn't that small enough?

Chihuahuas and poodles. But just be careful and make sure you see the parents of the puppies. Some people will tell you that they are teacups when they are not.

teacup poodle is the only teacup anything....

the yorkis and chihuahuas that are small are mearly runts or underfed as pups - there are no true "teacup" yorkies or chihuahua's
remember dogs this small often have VERY short lifespans
the smallest dog in the world was a yorkie - born as a runt and stunted through poor nutrition

Teacup chihuahuas will stay very small and are probably the smallest breed you'll find.

They'll get a couple of pounds at most.

A chihuahua dog, but you have to pick out the smallest one in the litter.

Tea cup dogs are very hard to take care of. They fracture their legs a lot jumping off of couches, beds, etc. They're VERY FRAGILE and you have to understand that due to their small size, they are more likely to get injured.
Yorkies stay fairly small.
