I wash my pillows in a side loader with warm sudsy water. Many pillows can be washed at home in a washing machine with a few additional precautions. First, set your washer on a gentle wash cycle and press the "extra rinse" button if available. If not, then simply put the pillow through the final rinse cycle another time or two to fully rinse out any soap and bubbles. These additional rinses are necessary due to the thickness and density of pillows.

Next, use the spin dry feature of your washer at least twice to get as much moisture out of your pillow as possible. Then place in the dryer. Fluff and turn the pillows periodically during the drying cycle. Drying your pillow will probably take several drying cycles, and might take several hours, since the filling in the center may still be damp even when the outer layers are dry. If in doubt, hang the pillow in a dry location for a day or two to make certain it is completely dry before returning to your bed.

I dry them in the dryer with about 4 tennis balls to help fluff them up. As the dry turns the balls spin and beat the pillows and it helps to dry them too.

Hope this helps!!

Best Way To Wash Pillows

I recommend:

1. Use amonia not bleach as it's a disinfectant and it really freshens things up vs whitens them.

2. Don't use any chemicals but soap if it's a feather pillow as the feathers have an oil on them that you want to keep.

3. If it's a fibre pillow, throw in something clean and hard - like a tennis shoe - to knock the pillow about in the dryer.

4. After it's mostly dry, hang it outside in the sunshine on a line of some kind. Sunshine is also a disinfectant and it makes laundry smell devine!!

Use warm water. As with all laundry, Add detergent before putting pillows in, so that detergent can mix much better and evenly. Wash a few towels at same time. Run the pillows through the rinse and spin cycles TWICE. Then one more time just on spin cycle to get rid of as much water as possible. Tumble dry very low temp.

some pillows may well be washed, yet they are goofy. A foam pillow can experience completely dry outdoors and nonetheless carry a gallon or so of water. the froth can get rotated and there is not any thank you to instruct it on the instant lower back. I in no way tried to bathe the different style. Pillows are affordable: if yours stinks, it grow to be time to swap it besides. undergo in concepts, you breathe besides the fact that grows in there.

The best way is to replace them if you're thinking they need washing. Do wash the pillow cases, though. I hope you use pillow cases. Every 2 to 3 weeks place your pillows in the freezer for 30 minutes to kill the mites that live on our sloughed off skin, and then take them outside and shake them out. Put clean pillow cases on and you're good for another week.

I, put the pillows in the washing machine, and add detergent and bleach,in hot/warm water, balance the washer with 2 Q pillows at a time. It all depends on the size of the pillows you have, Q or K.
I put mine on heavy load cycle, and have never had a problem.
Balancing is very important.

pillows are cheap enough to get new ones. But if feather pillows is what you have, you just stick them in the washmashine and on delecet cycle they will come out new after you but them in the dryer and no problem they fluff right back up. If foam pillows you have ,I would advise to get rid off them ,foam is keeping bacteria and I would not recommend them. If it is synthetic go to a dry cleaner much better for them. I hope I was some help

Your pillow should say how to clean it on the tag, but if it doesn't have one, just put the pillow in the wash and use the hand wash or delicate cycle, you should be able to use warm or cold water :)

I wash 2 at a time, and I agree balancing is important. I use warm water and use my regular cycle and they end up fine. I wouldn't waste my time taking them to the drycleaners, heck you could buy new ones for the same price as the drycleaning.

I place them right in the washer on the gentle cycle .. .use hot water, your usual detergent and a little bleach. Tumble dry in a hot dryer, then fluff.

*do not try this with foam pillows.
