Get over a guy I've liked for over 2 years?? Yuo people tell me to do it, but that's way easier said than done.

Whilst watching the olympics and other various athletics events I have always pondered this question: If the Earth spins on its axis at a high rate (I presume it must be at leat a few metres per second), why if a long jumper jumps against the direction the earth is spinning doesnt he jump out of the stadium! Or if he jumps in the direction the earth is spinning doesn't he travel backwards? If anyone has a simple explanation other than just one word - 'gravity' then I would like to hear it!

Our hospital like many now in the UK won't reveal the sex of the baby which is fair enough. I wondered if it is possible to look out for anything in the ultra scan (12wk?) and photographs which is an indicator. ( I thought it was bone that showed up most so that would rule out little penises!). We are not bothered either way and just want a healthy baby but I can't help being a bit curious and having a guess before it is born.

I can understand why people may not want to eat meat on the grounds of cruelty to animals (in the way it is treated whilst being reared for slaughter) or simply because they do not like to think of eating an animal but Jesus does not mention in his teachings that we should try to avoid eating meat. Why do you think he didn't mention this at all? Do any other religious texts discuss this? The Christian viewpoint almost seems to be that God gave us animals so we could eat them. What are your views on eating meat?
