Our hospital like many now in the UK won't reveal the sex of the baby which is fair enough. I wondered if it is possible to look out for anything in the ultra scan (12wk?) and photographs which is an indicator. ( I thought it was bone that showed up most so that would rule out little penises!). We are not bothered either way and just want a healthy baby but I can't help being a bit curious and having a guess before it is born.

i think its too early u have to wait till 16 to 18 weeks.... i know how much thrill its is at this stage of life,,,,,again at the rite period also when u going for ultra sound sometimes its still difficult to say as depends in what postion the baby is in .... sometimes its difficult.... however other than these factors their r some old tradition tales if us stomach shape is kind of flat that means the baby is spread out n its a girl n if ur stomach shape is round n has kind of point in centre its a boy.... keep guessing till he is out.... ALL THE BEST

No, not really unless the baby is laying there in the right position at the right time. Both of my boys were very modest when it came to the ultrasound. Even doctors can make mistakes. I knew a girl and the doctor told her they were having a girl. They did their bedroom in pink. Turns out they had a boy. So now some doctors don't even tell you. Then again sometimes the cord gets in the way and makes a female look like a male. Congratulationa and best of Luck to you

12 weeks would be a little early to see anything. Usually you get your first clear view at around 16 weeks. You would have to get a scan of the baby's bottom to be able to tell anything.

Boys are much easier to tell with the untrained eye for obvious reasons. I could tell my son was going to be a boy from the ultrasound without any problem.

I was able to tell my baby was a boy by the ultrasound before she told us.
