i have two cats as of today.
one i've had since he was 4 weeks old (he is 2 years old now)
and i just received a 7 week old girl kitten.
the boy has been very jealous of him all today, he's been hissing and hiding from the kitten and me. can someone please tell me how to make him like her or at least get along?? thanks!!

When it became clear that the Americans had to fend off the Soviets who were penetrating Korea to get to the Japanese, an all-night meeting was convened at the White House (on August 10, 1945). Two junior officers, who hardly knew a thing about Korea, were sent into an adjoining room to carve out the US occupation zone. Working in haste and using a National Geographic map for reference, they proposed the area south of the thirty-eigth parallel be occupied by the U.S.
To this day, famillies on either side of the thirty eighth paralell have yet to be re-united. Wives and husbands, brothers and sisters, mothers and their children were seperated for a lifetime.
I was inspired to write this after reading a recent poster's question demanding why people aren't more grateful for America's help and frequent "bailing them out.". It's for reasons like this...people don't forget things like this.

After being interviewed by the school administration, the eager teaching prospect said:

Let me see if I've got this right. You want me to go into that room with all those kids, and fill their every waking moment with a love
for learning, and I'm supposed to instill a sense of pride in their ethnicity, modify their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs
of abuse and even censor their T-shirt messages and dress habits.
You want me to wage a war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, check their backpacks for weapons of mass destruction, and
raise their self-esteem.

You want me to teach them patriotism, good citizenship, sportsmanship, fair play, how to register to vote, how to balance a checkbook, and how to apply for a job.

I am to check their heads for lice, maintain a safe environment, recognize signs of anti-social behavior, and make sure all students pass the state exams, even those who don't come to school regularly or complete any of their assignments.
Plus, I am to make sure that all of the students with handicaps get an equal education regardless of the extent of their mental or physical handicap.

I am to communicate regularly with the parents by letter, telephone, newsletter and report card. All of this I am to do with just a piece of chalk, a computer, a few books, a bulletin board, a big smile AND on a starting salary that qualifies my family for food stamps!
You want me to do all of this and then you tell me . . .

we just had this play in our school which was like a love story. and there was a part in the story wherein the guy hugged the girl as the closing scene. after the presentation, me and my friends were talking about that "hug" and all these things about the guy (not noticing that he was just behind me listening). then a few minutes, we noticed him and we stopped the converstion, then he walked away.. Was he mad or what?

I have these nieghbors. ( no that would not be a good word, neighbors are suppose to be friendly) Anyway they never had kids. And they do not like kids. They are around my age. When they found out I was buying the house next to them, they told my brother to tell me not to buy the house because they have three pit bulls or some other mean dog. They were trying to scare me since my daughter was young at the time. Anyways, they have the local police and 911 on speed dial. Last summer my nephwes who are 8 and 10 would come over and mow, my lawn. My sister and I would be out there supervsing. every time my nephews mowed they called the police. And the police said nothing illegal about them mowing. But since the complaint was filled he had to come over. Well finally a couple cops came over a couple months later and asked me to please not have my nephews mow the lawn because they were sick of hearing the lady complain. And they felt bad for always having to come over. wait there is more.

I know this is a controversial statement. But look at the evidence - New York, Madrid, London and now Bombay. Thousands of innocent lives lost. Islam does not preach this kind of violence against innocent people. Then why? Also why the muted response from the Muslim community?
