we just had this play in our school which was like a love story. and there was a part in the story wherein the guy hugged the girl as the closing scene. after the presentation, me and my friends were talking about that "hug" and all these things about the guy (not noticing that he was just behind me listening). then a few minutes, we noticed him and we stopped the converstion, then he walked away.. Was he mad or what?

his hands were shaking when he held the hand of the girl during the play. and we were kinda talking bout this after the play..
we were like asking each other (with friends) why his hands were shaking and other stuff like 'they were so cute when he hugged the girl.

Depends on what you were saying about him. If you were making fun of him, he's probably mad, if you were saying things like he's cute, I'd like to hug him, he's probably embarassed.

How would you feel if you were in his position? It would depend on what he heard you saying. were you talking about what a great actor he is? how cute he is? How awful he is? Chances are that his emotions are exactly waht yours would be if you walked up and heard someone saying the same things about you.

You should definitely talk to him about it...and this is why it's a good idea to keep your negative thoughts about others to YOURSELF.

Also, criticizing others is a sign of personal insecurity. You put him down and it makes you feel like you're better than him.

You should try asking him or convince someone to ask him for you if he was mad or whatever.
