It's not the religion to blame but the person who's running it.

My friend has not almost all humankind placed money as the top priority to be used to do what they want, get what they think they need, and to elevate themselves to power and control? I am of this opinion so why should not that catagory you stated by name Christianity be any exception?
Is it not that almost are taught from birth that the answer to everything is money? It can buy food, clothing, shelter, drink, cool air, heat, artificial sunshine, supposed happiness, and even a blessing from a so called God. [Sorry you said no religion].
Where did you get the idea that money is the root of all evil. Have you been listening to the so called Christians or did you just misquote it? I just wonder because I read it that it is, "The love of mmoney that is the root of all evil" but I may have read it wrong.
I have some money laying on my dressing table and it has been there for about a week. So far I have not seen any evil from that money. Maybe I have to wait for a longer period of time.
Just a joke my friend because I do see that your question has apoint and it does express one view. You used the word Christianity and that is a two-fold word. Are you talking about the true meaning of the word in meaning the followars of Christ or are you talking about the meaning of the word that is represented to many by those who do call themselves Christians? I think by your comments I do see which side you mean, but I will keep that opinion to myself. I am already smiling as I do answer this thinking of my views. I will be content with that.
You do have a nice day and don't worry about your money being evil. If you think it might be, you can give it to one of those so called Christian groups and they will I bet accept that evil stuff LOL... ha ha

You can't lump everyone in the same group. Just like anything there is good and bad people. Love of money is the root of evil but I think you have to weight each person based on their actions not Christianity as a whole. That would be like saying everyone in Hollywood is sex freaks!

It's like any other job: They don't want to waste their time if they're not getting paid, so they make giving money to the church a god-commanded activity. If you don't do it, you burn in hell. Just a little pressure, eh?
Money makes the world go 'round, unfortunately. The more the christian church has, the more power they can wield. Apparently it is working...look at the imbecilic bible thumper that is our president.
We really need to elect someone who respects the bill of rights...

New Age religious groups who claim to be a branch of Christianity tend to focus on the well being and successfullness of yourself, and also tend to ask for donations or sell merchendise to be able to cater to their services. Their services are usually large concerts with people preeching and others singing. Look it up if you're interested.
But the only way true Christianity would be about money is where social welfare groups ask for donations to help those in need.

The problem is that people want money, and some people are willing to go to any lengths to get it. And people who follow religion, especially those who take a more fundamentalist bent, are willing to follow anyone who espouses that they know the true path of righteousness. When you mix highly gullable people with people who want money at any cost you get a religion devoted to the next payday and a society of people behind it who become completely judgmental and ignorant.

Religions are made for the sole purpose of obtaining power. Sociopaths get into ministry to act holier than thou and feed their large egos. Money is only a way of keeping score.

Religion is big business - a way of extracting money from the weak and gullible with very little outlay.

It is because humans are sinful. Any institution that they get involved with becomes mingled with their sin.
It seems you are very angry. Anything you'd like to talk about?

They can guilt you into giving them some. The better they are at it, the more they make. Poeple who are good at it gravitate to the church and become deacons, priests, pastors.
