I know this is a controversial statement. But look at the evidence - New York, Madrid, London and now Bombay. Thousands of innocent lives lost. Islam does not preach this kind of violence against innocent people. Then why? Also why the muted response from the Muslim community?

That's not true. U.S. Marines, Air Force, Navy and Army are not terrorists? Yes they are! They just have more money to buy better equipment is all!

You have bravely pinpointed out something which others might've been afraid to express but which surely must've seemed obvious to many people. As you know, the Muslims are descendants of the Mongolians, the ferocious barbaric community, one of the most infamous member of it being Chengiz Khan, who made rivers of blood flow wherever he struck. Even though many Muslims have become more prudent and restrained themselves, yet the powerful sinews and the love of destruction may still have lingered in some of them and it is the driving force which leads them to wage a battle against the whole world. Terrorism makes them feel powerful, gives them the feeling of being Gods who have the ability to take away any body's lives at any time. They have no particular reason for doing so(and indeed, there can be no justified reason for taking away others' lives).Their 'jihad' can only stop when there is no more blood remaining in the world to shed. And as for the good Muslims, well, naturally, they will be torn between 2 mentalities-on the one hand, they don't approve of such holocausts and on the other, it is their brothers themselves who are involved in these activities(remember, the Muslims have an extraordinary unity among themselves, all of them treat each other as being of one family, even without any real bonds).

"most terrorists are Muslims". This is not true. if you look through the history, you will find many groups who were not Muslims. However, this statement is slightly true according to the current events.

Islam does not encourage terrorism and Muslims do not like terrorism actions.

I think these bombings happened to attract the world's attention to what is happening to Muslims. For examples, many Muslims are dying in Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon (innocent people) while some governments ignore that or support Israel.

I do not think the way the terrorists are acting is right. there are some peaceful ways that they can use in order to get the world's attention to what is happening to them. They could use the media for example.

I see it as most terrorists are either very religious or feel VERY strongly about political ideals.

People who irrationally and strongly believe in things tend to be dangerous and may become terrorists. Muslims in the Arab world are trained from birth to feel strongly about Islam. They grow up faced with difficulty every day. I am not religious, but I can see how if I truly believed that an afterlife awaited me, my life was terrible because my family and friends were dying, and that I could make a difference in the eyes of "God" by killing those whom I irrationally but strongly believed were trying to destroy my religion, I would be a terrorist.

As far as the Muslim community is concerned, I am not convinced that modern interpretations and authorities of Islam preach peace. Christianity committed some terrible crimes in the past based on irrational and strongly held beliefs that were condoned by Chritian authorities.

Bottom Line: I blame religion and irrational discourse as the main threat.

I don't mean to disagree with you; Islamic extremism is a great danger to many societies today.

But I do think that you've left out a number of events and cities/countries in the world that have been subjected to terrorist violence that is in no way related to Muslims.

The greatest act of terrorism in the U.S. prior to the attacks of 9/11 was committed by Americans - the Oklahoma City Bombing. But many want to forget about that since 9/11 was a much greater tragedy.

And Japan has also had a number of terrorist attacks from within, causing Japan to declare its own "war on terror" and draft its own anti-terror legislation.

I could continue making a list but ...

I think that the bottom line is that terrorism, whatever the source behind it, is a grave threat to civilization, wherever and whenever these acts take place.

Your Question has an answer! Islam doesn't preach violence, harming any innocent life is also not preached in Islam. Quran says if you kill an innocent human it is as good as killing the entire humanity. The terrorists are just power hungry or are misguided people who think they are saving Islam by their crusades. Whereas they are just doing things which are against the teachings of Islam and in a way harming the faith by giving false impressions.

Prophet Mohammed did wage wars but he never killed an innocent unsuspecting person. He didnt battle against children, old men, women, or anyone not intending to battle. Also his battles were only to protect the people from not being able to practice their faith, he didnt battle to convert people! nor to win any land.

So since the terrorists are not justified by calling their acts islamic.

a) Muslims make sure the entire world knows who did it. The terrorists in other religions don't do that. [And more than one, has even after conviction, claimed the evidence against them was fabricated in tota.]

b) Muslims are identified by religion. Terrorists of other religions do not, as a general rule, get identified by their religion. [You don't see a headline. "Hindu terrorists blew up another train station today". You will see it say "Tamil Tigers blew up another train station today". ]

iii) Islamic countries are under a theological imperative to not condemn the actions of another state that is under Islamic rule. An individual Imam can, and on occasion, will condemn an attack by a Muslim.

Are you suggesting the IRA were not terrorists? There are so many others too. Actually the real terrorists are the news media and the politicians who seize upon these acts as a means to drum up support for their ulterior motives. Think about it though.... the people who are blowing things up will never achieve their true goals without the media bringing these acts into our homes.

at the first , I agree that many innocent lives lost in these terrible accidents .
But you have to realize that all Muslims people are abused and frightened by the most of world governments . Take a look in Palestine every day people killed , and now in Lebanon .Most of the next generation their parents and their family killed , so these children when they grow up and realize that there are some countries do not sufficient by killing but also they want to take their lands , what do you expect from them ?.

Look at the groups that are doing it. It's just rich terroristic groups that pull other people in with them, probably why it seems so much to be just certain types of people. For the most part, it's not just everyday people like most of us worldwide.
