Seriously, I had thought often that if and when mankind arrives at the Oort belt, a "shell" of comet-like bodies that orbit earth from way off, they could aim numerous comets at Venus, causing tremendous cataclysms but cooling the planet, and install large solar-reflecting mirrors in orbit around it to produce solar energy on earth while shielding Venus. Enough comets would put seas in Venus's basins. [Maybe they could even "rope" the planet Mercury somehow and put it around Venus for a moon, to create tremendous tidal forces hence an electromagnetic field needed for life to thrive. Mercury is fifty percent greater in diameter than our own moon, and more massive. Or, they could just send a bunch of meteor material in orbit around Venus, eventually creating a moon. Anybody else excited by the idea? Let's do it! [Kidding, but serious.].

Going to Thailand with the fam bam in August

We're going to both Bangkok and Phuket but we've already done Bangkok so I have an idea of what I want to do while there.

I was wondering if anyone knew of attractions in Phuket that might amuse a teenager such as myself? (Keeping in mind that I may or may not be accompanied by my 12-year-old sister)

There is a lot of stupid people in the world right. Why don't we thin out the herd a bit? What we do is have people purchase Stupid Human Tag. The money will go to Education or something good like the cure for cancer.
Then on that one day a year you can hunt down stupid people with any device you would like. You can use a Spear, car, Asphalt Roller, Bowling Ball, and ect. You can do this until you reach your limit. But you have to use what you hunted. Making jerkie, glue or mount it on the wall..
This is not a diatribe on hunting. It is a diatribe of getting rid of the stupid people. Some of these stupid have blind luck and haven't figured a way to kill them selves. Unlike the guy who had butt sex with a horse, the horse was the pitcher. The guy was a catcher and died.

Hi everyone,

We just had a new sod lawn installed at my house in Southeastern Massachusetts about 2 months ago, and we are having an invasion of some sort of crab grass, which is lighter in color and thicker than the standard grass. We don't know what to do, and it seems to keep spreading all over the place. One part of our lawn doesn't have this problem at all. However, both parts of the lawn have an equal amount of heavy sunlight during the day.

Can someone shed light on what exactly this is, and how it should be treated to be eliminated?

Prisons seems to make it difficult to return to being a citizen.

Prisons seem to allow "socializing" which has spilled over into the community and is corrupting all of our youth today. Profanity, Prostitution, Molestation, Rape and Pornography all are fed by criminal needs.

Can't we determine how much land a prisoner needs to grow food and build a shelter and leave him there alone until he demonstrates he can read, write and perform arithmetic at GED levels? No TV, computers just books and (psychologically beneficial) screened movies. No contact except video with any human beings. Eliminate sentencing and use milestones based on the crime.

Separate prisons for inmates which are NOT getting out and facilities in the deep ocean or out in space on monitored but otherwise uninhabited moons or asteroids.

We should eliminate any system which makes it impossible to recover an inmate.

A rancher friend of mine asked me this question today and I thought it was too complex for me to answer as I am a carpenter and this does not come up in my line of work:
If a water supply containing 10 acre ft of water is 100 feet above the land to be irrigated and has a slope of 45 degrees, a regulated 12 in pipe is inserted at the bottom of the reservoir as the pipe gets smaller the pressure becomes greater but the volume gets smaller. The question is what is the greatest size pipe at the bottom of the grade that will give 125 psi. the slope is 300 feet long and at the bottom the pipe will be attached to a sprinkler system the pressure cannot exceed 125 psi. This entire system is gravity feed.
