George Washington, who had the power of Hitler or Stalin within his grasp, didn't give in to the temptation. Personally, if you have people look up to you for some reason, do you really feel compelled to bully them? Another reason for this lie is if a passive coward doesn't want to follow a leader who can achieve something, he can always say that the leader will wind up a dictator.

I'm 31 and single....?

I broke it off with my son's father almost 5 years ago and I've been single since. I gave up on men for a long time. Now I'd like to start dating again but to be honest, I'm terrified. How do you meet nice guys these days? Where do you go? I never drink, so bars are out. Any suggestions?

In the USA why can a city pass an ordinance without of vote of the people.?

I know this is a Republic but why are some things like bond issues voted for and other things like raising the tax on gas just done without a vote. In Omaha Nebraska the city council decided that almost all buisnesses will be smoke free. Is this something that should be on the next ballot? Seems to me this should be the buisnesses choice.
My main question is in the US what kind of things are up for a vote and what is just decided?

Campground locations?

I'm looking for a nice campground that's also NEAR A LAKE. Do you guys know any?

I'm interested in areas in/around Orange County, CA, Los Angeles, CA, or even San Bernardino County. Basically, Southern CA, but preferrably no more than an hour away from Orange County.

The last campsite I went to had showers and electronic access. :) These would be great, too.
