He will not go in jail unless they would have sex and she is not intreased inb having sex and they have been friends for a loong time and in the state of IL it is ok tio date some one older the 18 just as long as u don't have sex

think of it this way..what would a 20year old want with a 16year old? put yourself in his shoes? well your only 16..so i dont know how you would fully understand my point of view..but i am a 20year old female..and i would never want a 16year old male..but lets say i DOwant a 16year old..i am more mature then him..i know about more things then him..i am more advanced..been more places..learn more things..i have a car and a job and on a tottally different level then a 16 year olds head would be at..i dont think a 16yr old would have anything to offer me..you're what in 10th grade? and he has graduated 2 years ago..just like me..the only thing i could think about is that..negative things..he's on a tottally different level then you..already driving..probably got a job and maybe even a car.and you're still in high school writing notes saying "do you lilke me check yes or no"..do you see what i am saying..you're young..you should stay with your age group..im going to give you a llittle brief story..my best friend is about your age & she mess with older guys...this guy she had feelings for and she wrote him letters about her feelings and hung out with him and all kinds of things been through alot with him..so after months later she found out he was married..that he was lying to her the whole time..and he did a good job keeping it a secret my friend never even thought in her life he was married..being with an older guy will make u grow up quickly..life is short..have fun and experience being in a 16&17 year old crowd..first..dont even say its about feelings and you like him and care about him and all that..just like you could care about a 20 year old you could find a fine football player or smart cute guy whos in your class or goes to your school who you could care about also..trust me girly..wait until your older..he needs to stay with people out of highsschool..and his own age..and if your mom is serious she could press charges and he could go to jail for messing with a minor..im telling you..you're going to regret it..good luck! hope i helped

I do believe you can and It´s only nowadays that this has become an issue 50 years ago nobody would think this as a matter age is nothing but a number and as you grow the difference becomes smaller.
After this I must say you need your parents permission and support on this if they say it is okay you don´t have to answer to no one else. Remember be careful it takes to much "going through together" to know how a person really is.
But truly we live in a world of rules so don´t get heavy on any physical game or interaction until you are over 18 to avoid him and you problems if you want him and he wants you both can wait till is proper and legal

If they like each other, yes.
If the 16 year old's under the age of consent, that might make the relationship a bit difficult if they want to have sex. Maybe they could wait until she's older for sex, or even for the relationship?

Sweetie, Please take my advise ok I don't want to tell you what to do or anything like that ok. But No stay away from the older men, they only want what is between your legs. I'm 27 and when I was 16 I dated a 21 year old guy, I thought that I was in love with him. I dropped out of school, married him and lived a horrible life until i turned 18 then I divorced him while he was in prison. So sweetie like I said I'm only tring to help you not tell you what to do. But stay away from the older guys there nothing but TROUBLE. Good luck.

It depends on the state. My state, Virginia, has 16 as the age of consent. But I wouldn't recommend this relationship either. There's a lot of difference between 16 and 20.

Why cant people understand? NO! Wait till you are of legal age! I know a guy who dated a younger girl, even with the blessing of her parents, They really liked him and even testified for him at his trial! Some meddling social worker found out they were seeing each other, had him arrested and now he has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life! Is that right?no, but that's what can happen!

If you live in a state that allows it, be my guest. But your going to get him into trouble and it won't be funny.
Besides, if your trying to get older that your age, your gonna age quickly before you know it. Take a chill pill and slow down. There's a lot more for you to do than get involved with a man who has other priorities than to have a relationship with a GIRL, who doesn't know anything from jump. And if you think I'm talking about sex, you got another thing comming to you.

No because he is over 18 and 20 year olds arent on the same page as a 16 year old.

No a 16 year old shouldnt be with a 20 year old... Apparently that 20 year old cant found anyone his age so he has to date someone younger... wow thats nasty... why the hell would you date a person that is 20 when your 16... hes just using you and he's sick...

Defiantly not, for one the 16 yr old is not mature enough to date a 20 yr old and for two the 20 yr old should have enough common sense to back off and realize that could get you prison time.

SURE if they're looking for jail time. Why, do a grown man wants to be out with a 16 year old child(oops) teenager, anyways it just wrong there are women his age and young gentleman's her age.
