A prisoner was about to be executed but was promised his freedom if he drew a silver ball from one of two identical urns. He was allowed to distribute 50 silver and 50 gold balls between the two urns in anyway he liked. The urns were then going to be shuffled around out of his sight and he was to pick one urn and draw one ball at random from that urn.

How did he maximise his chances of success? He could choose to put 25 of each colour into each urn; that way he would have a 50/50 chance whichever urn he picked. He could put more silver balls in one of the urns, but that would mean less in the other and he has no idea which urn he will select since they are identical.

Is there any way he can improve his chances?

He has an two brothers (one turns 8 next month and one turns 3 this month). I think he'd enjoy the lessons and has great focus but I'm not sure at which age lessons should start. He's had two years of preschool and will start kindergarten in the fall. Any advice?

I want to get backup generator power if we have a blackout. The home standby systems are way too expensive. I see Briggs and Stratton has an Elite Series 09801 portable generator which CR says is good. However, I'm not sure how much it will cost to get a transfer switch installed by an electrician so i can just "plug" the generator's electric power into the home electricity system. I don't want to get ripped off and i'm not a millionaire. I went through the December 2001 ice storm and didn't have power for 7 days... it was terrible...

This is very Strange to me and has only started occuring in the last 2 years. It seems that during the night while sleeping I do strange things. She says sometimes I've talked to myself too during sleep.

My GF states that while sleeping I start touching her and incinuating us to start making love. The thing is that I don't remember none of this and only notice when I am already in the middle of the act. She also says that sometimes i touch her and she gets excited thinking we're going to make love but then I just turn around and go right back to sleep. The weird thing is that I don't remember any of this. She seems to love this whole thing but it scares me that I remember none of this and have no control over it.

What could be wrong with me?

Also I do have a history where my mom said that when i was a little kid I used to sleep walk. Strange and also very scary for me to think of. This was never confirmed though....
