Unfortunately, varicosities will be painful at times when you are on your feet for quite some time; or perhaps sitting for a long time. You can make sure that you get up and walk around every couple of hours to prevent pooling of blood in the varicosities. When they do ache and get inflammed; you mght want to get a pair of good fitting support hose to wear. The trick is you have to put them on first thing in the morning before getting out of bed. That way, the blood doesn't have a chance to pool in your legs. Also, you can cut down on junk food and salt in general in your diet to reduct the amount of fluids in your body; stay away from sodas. If you are overweight, it's a good reason to lose it now as those veins won't get better on their own.

You also can have a minor procedure done in the docs office in which the veins are injected with a solution that scars them and makes them shrink. The blood flow will automatically re-direct itself to another vessel. This is only for large veins, not spider veins. It will produce some discomfort for a couple of weeks, but when thats over, thats it. Good luck.

You can get laser vein removal. Perhaps your insurance would cover it since it isn't cosmetic for you seeing that you are actually in pain from them. Check it out.

My friend has had her veins stripped (very painful), but it was necessary. Check with the doctor.

Try taking coconut oil, nattokinase, grapeseed extract, and if you have any money left, coenzyme q10. It usually works quite well.
