I am planning a trip to Tanzania safaris. A digital camera is no brainer. However, considering between a digital SLR (dSLR) and a standard digital point & shoot (P&S) camera, I find it hard to justify the cost of dSLR.

Film SLR's provided 2 advantgaes over P&S cameras: a) interchangeable lenses and b) WYSIWYG pictures.

With P&S cameras advancing so much these days, we get P&S cameras that have zoom ranges longer than 400 mm (e.g, considering the 1.6x differential between the 35 mm format and the digital CCD format, a standard 10x optial zoom in a typical P&S digital camera gives you a zoom of about 400 mm). With image stabilization added in P&S cameras, I do not see a distinct advantage with dSLR's.

So, if I choose a P&S camera that has:

1) 10x or longer optical zoom
2) image stabilization
3) manual settings for ISO, aperture, and shutter speed
4) fast lens at higher zoom ranges
5) minimum shutter lag

Why would I need a digital SLR?

what is the observation when bromine water is added to alkene? I know that it will give a positive reaction under the exposure of the sunlight, but i'm not so sure about the colour that will be observe. I'd like to know before even considering popping the question. I guess the statistics tell us that 60% of first-time marriages end in divorce....and that 35% of the ones that decide to stick-it out for various reasons are unhappy, unsattisfied and some of those even begin affairs. What do you all think? Is it worth it in this day and age? What is it that we need to change in ourselves as individuals and as a society to change the concept of marriage in this century to make it successful? OK, some details...

I decided to say screw work today. Doing that a lot lately. For reasons I am not going to get into, they don't need me there all that much.

Making about $2K a week off the Stock market. At this point, mostly from shorting. But you place the bet, and you roll the dice.

Point is, I don't consider that to be productive. I consider that to be making money.

What making money allows me to do is write, and not worry about the checks coming in from it.

Is Gary Larson being productive these days? You know, the one who wrote The Far Side? Berke Breathed with "Bloom County?" Bill Watterson, you know, the guy that wrote Calvin and Hobbs? He is doing paintings nobody wants to buy at this point. He does not care.

So, back to the question: Is making money productive? Or is it something else after you have made that money?

i just finished my exams on friday last last week my mom's first reason for getting mad at me were my exam marks which are 53/60,54/60,55/60,55/60,56/60,59/60 Are these marks to get mad about or not? Second reason is that I begged her to go to this place because it was two of my best friends birthday and we were gonna surprise them. So she dropped me and one of my best friends at the restaurant. we were all having fun we surprised them with a cake and we were sitting in the order girl,girl,(me),girl,boy,gir,girl,boy,boy,girl right before we even ordered food she called me and said that she was coming to get in half an hour, i told her that we weren't done and she screamed at me and hang up the phone. After they cut the cake I took a video and right at that moment a guy came and sat next to me to see the video. my friend has a pc with about 10,000 songs on it. since that boggs down his computer, i suggested that he keep his music on an old computer of mine and do his daily internet surfing on his regular computer.

1. the computers are not networked, and we really don't want to network them.
2. don't really want to buy parts that we are only going to use once (looking for lowest cost option)
3. old computer has a dvd burner in it (but the music is on the other computer)

can anyone provide a good solution that would help him have a faster computer to browse the internet and also be able to back up his music..he's afraid computer 1 may give out and he will lose all of his music.
