My husband's family is being ripped apart over their inheritance. There was no proper will. Three siblings think the other two are cheating. And vise versa. My husband says he never wants to speak to his brothers again. One side says items were stolen before being accounted for. The other side claims cheating on the appraisals of what is there. Some similar but less extreme things happened in my own family when my grandmother died. And I never thought it could happen to my own family. But it is so common. My question really is 'what is at the root of such quarrels and why are they so common?"
