Something home made and from the heart.
It will be original and not a cop out present like the ones they put on special offer in the shops that everyone buys!!

Maybe try a scrapbook of all your memories together, or design him some vouchers, redeemable for lawn mowing, painting etc, and then you get to spend time together whilst doing a good deed.
How about a day fishing, or be a chauffer for the day, taking him to places he has always wanted to go but never found the time.
Make a picnic and take him out for the day!

Predicated upon his age, I have a couple of Ideas. 1) Have a picture taken of the two of you 2) Find a piece of music he has long since lost if in fact he has (great gift) 3) If he has a hobby purchase something to add to it. It will always remind him of you 4) Watch his favourite movie with him whether or not you like it
5) Take him to a Gentleman's Club and buy him a lap dance. In any event, have a great time. Oh...a card is always a given, and proves on the spot to be sentimental ~ or make him something....it's from your heart.

Don't get him anything that he can't use and will be put in the garage or closet after the holiday is over.
Get him something that he will LIKE and will USE. If he has any hobbies or interests, get him something that he can use with/for them.

I got my dad tools because he can always use them for building/fixing things, etc. That's what he asked for.

A glider ride. Its a plane with no motor. Basically like a toy glider but you fly it. A pilot goes with you until you are released and you guide it to the ground. It's about 130.00 per 45 minute session.
