I got my periods today, and i am going to the beach this wednesday. My periods are very regular, so i expected it come on next monday. My Bad. Anyway, is there any way of making the flow less, cause i wanna swim on wednesday. They don't sell tampons here in the middle-east, as i heard. So any solution please.

I dont know if there is any way to reduce the flow but i do know that tampoons are easily available in the Middle east atleast in all GCC countries (Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, saudi Arabiya, Kuwait, Oman). I am from Qatar and tampoons are easily avaialable at all pharmacies and supermarkets.

Do they sell the newer product called "INSTEAD"? I'm guessing no because it is also an item you would insert into the vaginal area. It looks like a diaphram and works like a cup/barrier. They work very well and I personally like them MUCH better than tampons.
Be sure to avoid aspirin which will make your flow heavier. Midol, Pamprin and ibuprophen or aleve are all better choices and will not cause a flood.
Good Luck

i'm sorry to hear that you don't have the luxury of tampons... i can only imagine how awful that must be for you. i know that if you take ibuprofen or aspirin or other anti-inflammatory medicines it will make the flow heavier, so avoid those products. i guess you may not make it by wednesday, but see if you can order tampons online. Some brands to look up are Tampax, Kotex, OB. These are the brands I trust. Good luck.

Flow stops while the body is in water, however, it will start immediately once you get out of the water. If you are handy, and have access to surgical supplies, make your own tampon. Using 100% cotton wadding, 100% cotton gauze, and a silk friendship bracelet you COULD sew something the size of your thumb....if you dare. Don't make anything bigger than your thumb and sew it together real tight. You wouldn't want anything to come apart.

from my experience you shouldn't have much flow when you are actually in the water just before and when you get out - too bad no tampons - good luck

from a hispanic point of view : you can boil beans for about 60min and then drink the juice from the beans that will make your period stop so you can go swimming without a problem! you might want to drink it with something else to give it some flavor..

Use a pencil. Rap it in kleenex. Although one time my friend did it and it ended up spelling are you stupid or something. LOL. Pencil ALWAYS WORKS. and when you get older you can use it for "other things". Just make sure its not sharpened. I hope it helps.
