Me and a few friends are going to San Antonio soon and I was wondering where are some places to eat that are cheap, but nice? We're college kids and we're only going to be there for 3 days.
Cowboys training camp... we're really excited.

Also, we're looking at hotels that are cheap. Is the Red Roof Inn a safe hotel? I stayed in one in Missouri and it wasn't the Hilton, but it wasn't horrible. I was just wondering what you guys thought about the area. Know of any cheap hotels that are better?

Thanks!

In a few weeks, I will hopefully be traveling to San Antonio, TX. I'm considering some attractions to visit (e.g.: Alamo, riverwalk, etc.) and wasn't sure if the six flags in san antonio is worth going to. We will probably be in s.a. for about 2-3 days. If anyone has been there please give me your opinion on this amuesement park!!!

has a walker/jogger friendly atmosphere where I can walk to the coffee shop, a grocery store and maybe a nice restaurant or two with my daughter in her stroller and jog without worrying about anything. I live in a neighborhood like this now and will miss it terribly if I cannot find this in SA, TX. I will most likely rent for a year before I buy since we don't know where is best for us. My hubby's family lives in SE San Antonio but nothing is close but Wal-Mart. ;-D

Help me, please, San Antonio!!!
Thanks!

Can someone who lives in Austin, TX please tell me if the flooding is bad there. We are planning a trip next week, and were wondering if we would be able to drive through there? If not, where would you recommend going through to get to San Antonio from Fort Worth?

Does anyone know of any grant programs in Texas that will pay for home repair? I have a neighbor who lives on SSI and can't possibly repay any kind of loan. She's also 10 years too young to qualify for a reverse mortgage. I don't think her house would qualify, either--the roof is leaking and the foundation is cracked. She also needs a lot of other work.
I've checked every website I can think of, including HUD, which only has programs for loans and rural homeowners. Does anyone have any other ideas? This lady really needs help!

Howdy I am taking the wife and two toddlers to San Antonio late May for 4-5 day vacation and have a few questions:

1) Weather... hot/humid/rain? what clothes to bring? do we need mosquito repellent?
2) Attractions: besides Riverwalk, anything else nearby?
3) Austin is 1.5hrs away, is it worth visiting?

thanks,
