I live in Corpus...here are some of the things I do when I have out of town guests.

Go to the beach...miles of beaches including the Padre Island National Seashore, Mustang Island and more...and lots of fun gift shops on the island. ...and if you check in a phone book when you get here (or ask someone at your hotel), you can arrange for activities like horseback riding on the beach, wind surfing, and wake boarding.

Someone else mentioned the Texas State Aquarium (it's not Sea World...very small but nice and you can see the whole thing without wearing yourself out) and the U.S.S. Lexington (a WWII aircraft carrier now a museum)...and both of these are located in an area with some fun gift shops and restaurants (Check out Pier 99)...you could kill two days on this side of the bridge.

...and just across the channel on the other side of the bridge you can go to the Museum of Science and Nature...it isn't large but they have authentic replicas of the wooden ships the pilgrims sailed to America (the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria...they have two of the three but I can't remember which ones)...they were built and actually sailed from Spain a while back and ended up in Corpus Christi by a strange turn of events. There is also a decent art museum and a walk through Heritage Park can also be nice (all these attractions are next to downtown and you have all sorts of street signs pointing the way!). You can even

At the marina (downtown Corpus), you can charter a fishing boat, go for a sighseeing tour on a multilevel boat and eat at several restaurants that are virtually surrounded by water (Joes Crab Shack, Landry's)...and there's a public beach with jet ski and other rental "toys" just up the road at the Holiday Inn.

...and if you'll have transportation, you can drive over to Port Aransas and take the ferry to Aransas Pass...there, if you really like fishing, you can check out Outdoor Adventures at the Crabman Marina for 1/2 day and full-day deep sea fishing trips...they will also rent you a kayak if you want to tool around the canals by yourself (supposedly you can kayak to the old lighthouse...I haven't done this yet)...and I think there's a water park over there somewhere.

...and last, but not least, if you enjoy gambling, Texas Treasures operates a casino cruise out of Port A....see http://www.txtreasure.com/welcome.asp for more information about schedules and prices!

My favorite thing to do in Corpus is go to the Texas State Aquarium. I was blown away by it. And just next door is the USS Lexington ship which is actually a huge ship you can tour like a museum. Both websites are posted below.

I would recommend scanning the following, which lists 101 things to do in Corpus Christi:

Personal favorite: Mustang Riding Stables; it was something you can't just do anywhere (riding horseback on the beach), and both my husband and I had a blast.
