I was born and raised in Southern California (L.A.), but i went to college in Northern California (Humboldt). From living in northern California for 3 years, I noticed such a difference in the two parts. The people are different, the weather, beaches, the slang and it seemed like there was always this tension between students from "SoCal" and students from "NorCal". I've never been to the Dakota's or the Carolina's but I would imagine they have their differences also.

I'd say TENNESSEE!!! The people, culture, scenery, historical sites, cities, shopping, roads, restaurants, fishing, hiking, dining, cities, accents, etc. are all better than KY. Nashville and Memphis are thriving, eclectic, unique cities and experiences, and the water in the Smokies is very clean. "Good Ol' Rocky Top Tennessee!"

My experiences in Kentucky have sucked. Louisville and Lexington are very snooty cities. Eastern KY (i.e. - London, Corbin, Hazard, Paintsville) are very unwelcoming and impolite to "outsiders." There is very little to do--unless you're a redneck. And, "My Old Kentucky Home" is a terrible state song.

I'm desperately wanting to get out of Kansas City, MO, where I have lived for the past 22 yrs (which is my age). I want somewhere warm, not much for snow. I need a job there.. I need a place to live there.. I would like to be a vet tech... I like animals, esp. horses. The hard part is figuring out where I could afford to move to, when I don't even have a job there! I don't know much about other states economic situations. Here everything is spread out, I live 15 minutes from downtown, and 15 minutes from the cities airport.. we don't take the bus here, or taxis or none of that, gas is the cheapest here as far as I know.. Need walmart... hate it but need it, I want to live somewhere mildly like kc, price-wise I guess, but socially I have got to get out!!! This place sucks after 10pm!!! Any suggestions?

I am looking for somewhere like a beach or something to go sit with my sweetie at. Somewhere in Door County, or Green Bay...just somewhere where we can be alone. Any ideas?

If arriving at the airport in Orlando, FL and going to Port Canaveral for a cruise, does anyone know the cheapest way to get from the airport to the ship port? I've been told that the cruise line (Disney) charges $70 per PERSON to transfer from point A to point B, round trip. Does anyone know of a cheaper shuttle service? Or know about car rental? I'm guessing you can park a car outside of the cruise line port area for extended parking, right?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

My fiance has to choose where to go to law school for next year. We are currently in Iowa where we ended for a job for me but we absolutely hate it and can't wait to get out. We are not religious and are independent politically. I am from France and can deal with any whether but he is from Florida... Right now we were thinking of Texas, Houston and Dallas (but that scares me), Arizona, Sacramento CA, or South Carolina (that scares me too).
What would you suggest? Anyone who has info about these cities?

I'm not so concerned with the skiing, but I want to go somewhere where there's a lot of snow and I would like to stay in a lodge/resort like you see on tv...a log one with fireplaces in the rooms and a balcony with a snowy view.

Like the ones you see in the movies. Is there really a place like that out there? If so, why is it still a small town?

I want to move. I have come to the realization that I can never make it as a southern girl, because I'm too much a Midwestern/Northern kind of person. I don't rule out living in the North again, but I'm curious about the West, because I've never been out there..... I need some place that isn't too expensive, like NY and CA are definitely out of the picture! I would like some place with stuff to do, as I'm young and want to go out and have fun. I'm looking for a city/big city type place and I would like warmer weather than what you get up north. I do like FL, but are there a lot of dangers weather wise to live there? Your advice and input is greatly appreciated!
