I was born and raised in Southern California (L.A.), but i went to college in Northern California (Humboldt). From living in northern California for 3 years, I noticed such a difference in the two parts. The people are different, the weather, beaches, the slang and it seemed like there was always this tension between students from "SoCal" and students from "NorCal". I've never been to the Dakota's or the Carolina's but I would imagine they have their differences also.

The Simple answer would be yes. Because of the geographical and economical differences the Two half's would benefit from being separate entities. While the northern half is primarily an agricultural economy it would benefit from having its senatorial reps fighting for the rights of the farmers and ranchers. The southern half would benefit because its tax dollars would stay in the south to fix the roads and overly congested freeways.

The more complicated answer is no... there are too many benefits for the state to stay as one and convincing the general public to go along with it would be a monumental task. Splitting the government in two, creating two new state constitutions, the fighting over where the border should be(my opinion is Bakersfield is split in two and that becomes the border), and many other reasons make this unlikely... but still a good idea.

I currently live in Tennessee and wish we would give Memphis to Arkansas or Mississippi!

Your welcome

What are the advantages of that? I have lived in both SoCal and NorCal and there are differences but I never noticed tensions.

i does not say it quite is not relaxing in spite of the shown fact that it relies upon on what you may tolerate. particular, it quite is warm, and humid. once you're ok in ninety degree climate with a splash mist fan and sunscreen and a hat, you would be fantastic. And particular, it rains, in spite of the shown fact that it does not have some vast typhoon each and on a daily basis... in many circumstances it will rain for a at the same time as interior the previous due afternoon... you convey a rain cape & some turn flops & basically save going nonetheless, quite. it quite is fairly clean. I mean, it quite is the busiest time of year for Disney and persons save going back so i do no longer think of it ruins the exhilaration. particular, there is lightening, yet despite if it is going to be right over you or if it gets undesirable relies upon on the day. If the lightening makes you apprehensive, basically pass in a journey, save or eating place for somewhat till finally it stops. To me, the worst area in regards to the summer isn't even the warmth, however the strains. I mean, people stay right here; we live on the lightening and the warmth, so are you able to ;-) seem up park maps so which you will see that what they have, plan your routes, & your quickly passes & stuff. Watch the trip classes & seem up trip movies on youtube, they may be cool for making plans. suitable suggestion: stay at a Disney international motel; even a cost motel. You get a much greater suitable adventure, at the same time with greater Magic Hours. in case you reside outdoors Disney you spend too lots time in transit and you ought to spend one greater $14 consistent with day to come again interior the parking lots besides so it quite is not lots of a discounts. previous due June is greater suitable than July.

Old friend of mine suggested this, then merging the Dakotas to keep the states at 50. From a population standpoint, it all makes sense, but historically and socially there would probably be lots of opposition.

I'm afraid it will be cut in half some day - by an earthquake. Maybe then it can become 2 states.
