I'm desperately wanting to get out of Kansas City, MO, where I have lived for the past 22 yrs (which is my age). I want somewhere warm, not much for snow. I need a job there.. I need a place to live there.. I would like to be a vet tech... I like animals, esp. horses. The hard part is figuring out where I could afford to move to, when I don't even have a job there! I don't know much about other states economic situations. Here everything is spread out, I live 15 minutes from downtown, and 15 minutes from the cities airport.. we don't take the bus here, or taxis or none of that, gas is the cheapest here as far as I know.. Need walmart... hate it but need it, I want to live somewhere mildly like kc, price-wise I guess, but socially I have got to get out!!! This place sucks after 10pm!!! Any suggestions?

These are all great answers so far!! I had one concern with florida... where are the older people living there? I mean, I hear Florida is where people go to retire and I'm looking for people my age. :)
And I like the Tenn deal, but I need a nightlife, lots of bars, clubs, and stuff to do after dark.

Orlando, Florida is a nice area. I lived there for 33 years. It never snows, there are lots of jobs, Daytona Beach is only an hour away. There are 6 Wal-Marts. Gas is about $2.38 right now, but that changes every day. There are rural areas close by. Apopka, Florida is nice and close to Orlando.

I would suggest Tennessee... the Shelbyville area offers many jobs in the equine field due to the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration.. living expenses are affordable, around $400 per month for rent. There are more than plenty Wal-Marts and the weather is warm, but I hope you like tornadic storms. Socially wise there is not much to do for fun unless you feel like traveling to Nashville or Huntsville, Alabama. Good luck and be sure to do your research before moving.

Look at areas that have a race track where you might be able to get employment around animals. That experience might give you some insight as to whether or not you really want to pursue vet school. Many race tracks also have housing for track employees, albeit not exactly luxurious. You will also want to look at areas that have a nearby school of veterinary science. Do your homework and follow your heart.
