We're looking for a romantic, clean, modern (decor), hotel. I've been checking out reviews of different hotels and it's just throwing me off more. From what I can tell, it's mostly about the views and balconies. The better the view, the more expensive the room. It would be nice to have a great view, but I'm not paying an extra 2-300 dollars for that. My husband likes 5 stars only, I'm a little more flexible. I haven't found any true 5 stars listed but I've narrowed it down to Hotel Metropole - which is a little pricey, or the Pavilion Lodge. Are there any others that I may be overlooking? Any other info. about Catalina would be great also.

while traveling along the historic route 66 me and my brother witnessed the most peculiar thing. We were passing by amboy which we knew was said to be haunted. but out of no where we saw a house with lights on it. like they werent regular lights though it was as if there was a light show on it. at first we all thought we were seeing things, but we all saw it. the reason why it was so hard to believe was because the lights were on all 4 sides of the house! if anyone knows anything about it can you please let me know, why would a small house in the middle of the california dessert have a light show on it? and is amboy really haunted?

I am trying to find fun things to do (no clubs) in the area of Valencia or surrounding cities...no more than 1 hour away. I want a fun unique place to possibly eat and something fun but low key to do in the evening. Pleasseeee help...I am not from that area and I can't tell my best friend because I am surprising her. My son and I are holidaying in Los Angeles for a week in April and would like to find a driver to take us to various appointments throughout the day. Driver will need own car and will need to be available in mornings and afternoons. Will need to be flexible with times. My wife arrives in LAX terminal 6 (gate 67), and leaves 50 minutes later from terminal 7 (gate 77) -- she'll have 3 young children with here and she'll be going to Australia.
1) Can the walk between these gates be done without passing through a TSA checkpoint?
Bonus question...
2) Is there any departure hall area that'll consume time?
