I am trying to find fun things to do (no clubs) in the area of Valencia or surrounding cities...no more than 1 hour away. I want a fun unique place to possibly eat and something fun but low key to do in the evening. Pleasseeee help...I am not from that area and I can't tell my best friend because I am surprising her. Thanks!

Well the obvious is Six Flags Magic Mountain, but you could also try Hurricane Harbor Water Park. This is a beautiful but fully planned community and obviously they didn't plan on someone your age having any fun there...so you better plan on heading into town or going over to the beach in the Ventura area...I would recommend Universal Studios/City Walk. I think that is about the closest thing for you...or maybe you could go to Malibu...Your friend would probably like those things...

other than magic mountain, valencia is not much more than housing tracks and strip malls, albeit nicer ones than usually found in LA. Chances are he/she's been to MM numerous times.
if an hour away is your criteria, the list is long. especially if you can avoid traffic.
you can go over the hill to malibu and surrounds, check out the new getty museum.
i like the drive on the 126, i think it is. maybe go up to antelope valley or mojave to see the wildflowers.
hey, how about solvang? it's a little more than an hour away, but worth it. not much of a night life there, though

The Grove, Pasadena, San Diego. All of those are great places for eating and entertainment. Even the Promenade at Santa Monica. Then you two could cruise Venice beach. Hello, your with your best friend. I'm sure where ever you end up, it'll be a blast.

magic mountain is the biggest attraction if it hasn't already been sold to developers for a new track of houses.
