^ The Citadel is NOT in the heart of LA; that's ridiculously wrong. And it's not outdoors.

The places most similar to what you listed are Old Town Pasadena, The Block in Orange, the Irvine Spectrum, Fashion Island (Newport Beach). I generally prefer the ones in Orange County because parking is easier (and free). Parking and traffic are the reasons I left LA.

Check out the Citadel Outlet Mall at http://www.family-vacation-getaways-at-los-angeles-theme-parks.com/Citadel-Outlet-Mall.html - it's very unique & in the heart of L.A. - I do also recommend both 3rd Street Promanade in Santa Monica and Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena

Those two are my favorite places to go in Los Angeles! Another cute shopping 'town' is right outside of the Disneyland entrance.

Shopping can be tricky in LA. It's really spread out and can be frustrating. I found an article that gave some great advice on how to make shopping in LA a little bit easier. Hope you like!
