Las Vegas

My friend from Scotland, her husband (in their 30's), and her parents (retired but love travel) are going to Vegas tomorrow. I have some ideas on things to do, they'll separate some of the time. Where do I suggest the parents (about 70-ish) go, and where do I suggest my friends go?

They're staying at the Stratosphere with no rental car. I need to be able to tell them something by tomorrow night!

Does anyone know of any cheap or free things to do in Las Vegas that doesn't require a car? My parents are going there for 4 days for a conference..I have a feeling my dad might be bored so Im wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I know it's practically impossible not to spend any money there but one that doesn't make a fat dent in your wallet...we are normal people, not like Britney or Paris who can afford everything. They are going to see a Cirque Du Soleil show and anything else on the strip, that would be great. Thanks for your help.

I am thinking something along the lines of Cirque du Soleil. I don't want to spend much more than $65 for a ticket.

Are there any places left in Vegas that have $1 or $3 table
games?

How about some advice for a low roller trying to get comps.
I am particularly interested in blackjack and craps.

Where are the best places to play slots? (Best Payouts, most variety) Any advice for selecting the best machines?

Is the monorail worth the extra expense as compared to the trolley?

Thanks for your time and help in answering my questions!

Hi if you get married in Vegas do you need to go there for a couple of days before or anything? Wasn't sure how long you had to have your licence first.. I assume you can't just arrive and run off to the chapel..
Thanks in advance

Are the hotel rooms located in the tower itself??? Or in a building on the side of the Stratosphere tower? I've never actually looked at the tower up close, but I don't recall ever seeing windows along the sides of the tower.

Casino dealer told me and my wife not to get lost when going threw North L.V., he said it had some really unsafe neighborhoods, ridden with crime, gangs and poverty. He claimed its very dangerous for tourists like us and not to check out...Did this guy have any truth to his words, or was he misunderstood himself??

My friend just let me know that she might not be able to go with me and my airfare is non-refundable. The hotel is paid for. I'm trying to decide if I should just go and possibly meet some other fun ladies to hang out with. I make friends very easily. I would love to find some girls who love to get all dolled up and go dancing! Otherwise I'm guessing I will just hang by the pool and maybe see a show or two. I obviously can't go to clubs by myself...

I have read on several travel websites conflicting stories about shuttle buses in Vegas. We're going in May and I would really rather not rent a car again. Has anyone taken a shuttle from the airport to their hotel and back? OR a taxi? Please share your experiences and/or recommendations!
