I have to agree with Jason. If you're mainly there to party and you don't plan to be in your room much, don't spend all your money on it. There are many cheaper hotels you can get that have a clean bed to sleep in, a nice room but without the price. I've stayed at the Tropicana in the whirlpool suite (you get a whirlpool in your room and we were on the 19th floor with a view of the strip) for half the price you'd spend at most of the fancier hotels. Plus, the Tropicana is right next to the MGM Grand where you can catch the Monorail to get to any other hotels down the strip. We paid $500 for 3 nights to stay in the whirlpool suite last time we visited. I can't comment on Excalibur as I've never stayed there, but it IS cheap and you can get a whirlpool suite there for about $600 total for 3 nights.
But, if I had to choose from the 3 on your list.... I'd personally go for Caesars. It's by far my favorite hotel on the strip. There's a great shopping mall attached to it, lots of awesome restaurants and things to do right inside the hotel and it's a great location right in the center of the strip. They also have a free "tram" inside the hotel also that stops at Rio, Bally's, Paris and Harrah's.

I just came back from Vegas last week and I stayed at the MGM. I looooooved it. The prices are super reasonable, especially if you join the players club. I would suggest to join it online now and they will start emailing you discounts!! We were originally going to stay at the Venetian, but compared to the prices the MGM is the way to go.... You spend very little time in the room because there is soooo much stuff to do in Vegas don't splurge on the room.. I cannot say anything bad about the MGM!!

21 and in Las Vegas - Your best choice would be the MGM Grand.
The MGM Grand caters to a more hip crowd, lots of parties and lots of noise. They are a bit classier than other hotels on the strip as well.
I'd say definitely no to both Caesars and Mirage - Caesars caters to an older clientèle, the casino is listed as one of the top earners in Vegas, this is mostly due to Caesar's long standing with many high rollers - it's very large and a bit overwhelming for young partiers - Although don't miss out on buying a hot dress or outfit over at the Forum Shops.
Mirage is old and shows it as well. I can't get over that darn carpet - it's probably the only casino in Las Vegas - whose carpet I would recognize on sight - (Sounds silly - but it sticks out!)

We have been all around, stayed at Excalibur, MGM grand, NY NY, Stratosphere, The mirage, the luxor, Treasure Island, honestly... stay at a place like excalibur.. it is WAY cheaper and just as nice as any of the mentioned. They often have deals for like $40 a night...We stayed at the MGM grand and its pretty good but its still a bunch more. The mirage is REALLY nice.. when we stayed we had a really good view of the secret garden (the dolphin and wild animal park thing) but once again it costs alot more.. Ceasars palace is just a waste of money.. its more for stuffy uptight people i wouldnt say so much for more of "partiers" It doesn't really matter what hotel you stay at seeing that everything is pretty much in walking distance.. why waste all of your money on the hotel when you can use it on shows and drinks!

MGM Grand, simply.
..MGM.. youngest crowd. amazing pools (around 10). great restaurants. biggest casino floor on the Strip. Studio 54 and Tabu night clubs.
..Mirage.. older crowd. more of an old school casino. part of the Las Vegas before it was the real "Sin City" of VEGAS! Jet night club.
..Caesars.. more for the high rollers. best shops for EXPENSIVE shopping. Pure nightclub (very good.. popular for celebrities)
..overall i'd say the MGM Grand for a 21st!
..that's where I spent mine.
..now I moved here to LV from the East Coast.
Viva Las Vegas!

I would go with Mirage only because it's not as big as the other two. MGM you can get lost in because everytime you make a turn it looks exactly the same as where you just were. Caesars is also big but it does have the forum shops. For you 21'st I would actually suggest the RIO much hipper

I'd go with the Mirage, out of the three.
MGM Grand is so honkin' huge I get a headache trying to walk thru. Caesar's is kind of the same way for me. I've stayed at the Mirage and I love it. It's very classy.

Ceasars Palace is not a comfortable place to be in...very confusing to get around.
The MGM is very nice and very, very big
The Mirage would be my pick - very nice and a very pretty tropical atmosphere. Hope this helps and Happy Birthdday!

I have stayed at all three and my choice would be the MGM.
They have the best rooms and out of the three you suggested it is certainly the nicest all around.
Caesars is alright....their new pool is alright but the rooms are just so-so. I liked staying there simply for the fact that I love the forum shops.
The Mirage is....very average. Its like the holiday inn with a nicer pool.
