For the people who are questioning me about taking my kids to Vegas, I want to ask you, Is it written somewhere that you shouldn't take your kids to Vegas? I thought that children as well as adults lived in Vegas.

I was just checking on this yesterday for a family of four. I found a great deal at a very-very nice hotel for families.

http://www.travelworm.com had the Orleans for $28.80(avg) for five nights Sunday through Thursday(the dates I checked were July 15th - 20th) - this is such a great deal that I would at least check to see if they had the dates I was interested in.

Web site for the Orleans
http://www.orleanscasino.com
The Orleans does have adjoining rooms, which works out well for large families/groups. The Orleans has very nice over size rooms(450sq ft).

The Orleans will price match. When you find the rate for your dates call 1-800-675-3267 and tell them you found XXX rate on Travel Worm.

We go to Lv 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for more than 20 years. The Orleans is one of our favorites, we spend a week or two there every year. We were just there for 10 days in December. We also take friends/family to the Orleans and recommend it to others.

Excalibur would be the best bet due to location.

Circus Circus is really kid friendly but a step below Excalibur in terms of quality. They have live circus acts every half hour and a theme park at the back of the hotel and clowns everywhere.

The Orleans is a very good choice; just that it is 1 mile away from the main action on the strip but it does have a multiplex theatre though and lots for the kids to do. They have a free shuttle to the Strip every 20 minutes or so.

Price is relevant, depending on your point of view of inexpensive,

as mentioned before Circus Circus and Excalibur are geared towards families. Many things to do for them.

Go to
http://www.vegas.com/attractions/freeattractions.html
to help with your budget.

One of my favorites is M&M world just north of MGM.

If you like classic cars go to www.imperialpalace.com look for the classic cars museum and print free entrance coupons. They use to hand out free decks of cards when you entered I am not sure if they still do. If you don't like old cars don't go you will be board.

Just as a reminder don't let your kids pick up any $20 bills on the ground most of the time I see them on the north end of the strip they are flyers for strippers that look like a folded $20 and when you open, well you get it. I would stay at the Excalibur for them money.

If you don't mind the hotel try www.priceline.com and bid on your room.

The hotels on the strip do have rules about kids entering the casinos. the must be a guest of the hotel or passing through to a show or event, they cannot linger around.

Hopefully you can have some time to enjoy vegas yourself too.

Have fun and good luck
Glenn

I'm not sure I would take kids to Vegas, but that's up to you. If you are talking about the strip, you can get good deals at Circus Circus and The Excalibur. The Imperial Palace is OK and more centrally located, but not as much stuff for them to do.

Try checking out www.tripadvisor.com , they have ton's of reviews by people who have stayed in the hotels, and you can search by city

Several strip hotels do watch for this kind of thing, and I have seen people caught for it by security. Oftentimes, housekeeping has a list of which rooms are occupied, by how many people, for how many nights, etc. So they could notice if there are more people in the room and they are often told to watch for it. If you do it, tip the maid well. If you get 2 room keys and always go in groups of 2, then you may not have trouble. And make sure that only 2 people go check in! But do know that you could be caught. I agree that it's safer, and much more honest, to just pay for the extra people or go to a cheaper hotel.

Hey girl, it all comes down to when you are going. When it comes to a weekend, everything is around at least $90+ on the strip. For weekdays, your best bet for price on the strip would be Sahara. Their rooms are really average, but they are cheap and the hotel is within walking distance of Circus Circus which has an amusement park. My little sister has to always go there. My family and I go about every other month and she has ceased to not requesting it even though she goes to Six Flags and Knotts whenever she wants. If this is your familys first time, you must walk up and down the strip together checking everything out. You and your kids will love seeing all the lights and different hotels, plus it's good exercise. Hope you enjoy your trip.

Why in the world would you take 4 children to Las Vegas? SO they can experience the culture? People amaze me...

You can take your kids there...no problem. THE problem is the hotel. 6 people in a room with 2 beds?? and one rollover??
Get a suite somewhere. I know is expensive , but try the Venetian. 6 people will fit great there. 2 queen size beds and 1 double sofa-bed.
The Rio may also accomodate you, call them directly and ask them.

depends do you want to stay on the strip or not? Excalibur is cool for kids the entire bottom floor is a arcade. There is circus circus but i would not recommend staying there. Treasure island is cool for kids too.
There is this shark reaf at Mandalay Bay you got to take them to that.
