I am going to be staying there next month and would like some opinions on the rooms (standard), the casino, the food, shops and how your experience was.

I stayed at the Paris last December and it was a very nice comfortable standard room that we had. It had a love seat as well as a writing table in the King room we had. The bathroom was large with a shower stall as well as a tub. The room had a huge flat panel HDTV. I liked the room and would stay there again. I did play in the casino some but you don't really worry about whether a casino is good because everyone always goes to all of the casinos on the strip near your hotel. Sometimes when i go I don't even play in the casino where I have my room.

Food prices in Vegas are really high now; no more bargains on the buffets which are now generally $15. to $25 for dinner. We ate in the Paris dinner buffet one night, at $25. a person, but I would not eat there again as its just too expensive for me. The food was great but I can eat cheaper than that, like at a food court somewhere.

The shops in Paris and most of the big hotels are top dollar name brand places where you will spend all of your money if you buy anything. But you can go to Fashion Show Mall up the Strip a ways (walking distance) if you want more regular stores. Or, you can take a taxi or the bus south on the Strip to the outlet mall which is just south of the airport on Las Vegas Blvd (the Strip). It has all of then usual outlet stores.

I didn't stay there but I went there twice. The casino was a lot like others on the strip, no huge differences. I played some blackjack there and won a few bucks so I'll say I liked it. I did the buffet there and it was great! It was around $25-30 but well worth it due to the quality of food and large variety.

Have fun

Paris is the most over-priced hotel on the strip. Not the most expensive... but the most over priced, overrated.

Wouldn't know. Been through Las Vegas a couple times. And only through. Wouldn't rate Las Vegas at all.
