I don't get it. I'm an American and I absolutely LOVE redheads. Why are redheads (or "gingers") so discriminated against in the UK?

My mom, grandma, and I are going to visit the British Isles in September (England/Ireland/Scotland/Wales). We need some ideas for popular, interesting places to visit while there. We have two weeks to travel, and we want to spend most of our time in Scotland/Ireland. We'll probably spend only two days in England. But is there anything to do in Wales?

I'm going to a temperate climate (OK, the UK. Does it rain a lot there?) and need to pack! How many T-shirts? I'm a clueless teenage girl and can be a klutz spilling things, if that helps with calculations.
